Science World: Structuring Scientific Inquiry (K-7)
Limited Capacity filling up

The BC curriculum has a strong focus on the Core Competencies, inquiry-based learning and classroom assessment. But what does this look in the science curriculum? In this workshop we will explore some tried-and-tested Science World activities through the lens of inquiry. We’ll consider the use of effective questions, ways to scaffold students’ learning and how to meaningfully assess their work.
Target Audience: K-7

MATERIALS REQUIRED FOR THIS SESSION:
  • Post-it notes
  • The paper helicopter template (attached on the conference site)
  • A few sheets of scrap paper
  • Scissors
  • Paper clips or binder clips
  • Additional small materials (like paper clips) that you can easily attach to paper
  • (Optional) Hair dryer
